Patrick Allen began drumming at the age of 12 and quickly became impassioned, practicing several hours every day. He began playing professionally at the age of 15 touring the bars and cabarets of Eastern Canada. Patrick is an alumni of both highly regarded Queen Charlotte and Colonel Grey music programs. Upon graduating high school, Patrick travelled to Brazil to study latin and world music. Upon his return, Patrick enrolled in the Jazz Performance Program at St.Francis Xavier University and then Humber College Jazz Studies in Toronto, Ontario.
Patrick is trained in all styles of music. From odd meter prog rock to bebop and afro-cuban, Patrick feels at home behind the kit, ready to lay down some groove.
Patrick also holds advanced academic degrees that he applies to teaching pedagogies and curriculum for his students. Every student has individual needs and Patrick develops education around a functional competency foundation to ensure top results. His advanced degrees were concentrated on the philosophical foundations for wellness, mental health, and healthy social and community culture and practice. Patrick's drum wellness workshops are designed around best practices in workplace health and culture.
