navigate here PJR Allen Ph.D. c. invests his time in rooting out the abundance of obvious, extreme, and oppressive contradictions inherent to a neoliberal late-capitalist society. Research interests include, but are not limited to Neo-Marxism, ethics, political philosophy, economics, Steely Dan B-sides, and critical theory.
And if you need credentials to take this seriously, then:
PJR is a late-stage failed intellectual PhD researcher at the University of Birmingham (UK) in the Department of Philosophy. But PJR is no positivist, so PJR deals mostly in obscure French and German post-structural philosophy. You know, the utterly impenetrable and impossible to read shit. Analytic philosophers call this area ‘nonsense’. But that’s ok, some things probably aren’t meant to make sense, right? (Get it, how can this claim be right?) PJR is writing about how neoliberal capitalism has led to the digi-modern-‘blip-click-like’, headline only attention span, obsessive, narcissistic, Orwellian, intense anxiety provoking culture in Anglo-American society.
From time to time you may read some ethical or legal argument on here because PJR also holds a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Healthcare Ethics and Law, where he wrote a boring book on how antidepressants don’t really ‘antidepress’ and that saying they do proposes ethical and legal problems in informed consent. This, of course, opened a massive can of worms and PJR ended up in a painful and difficult half-decade of deliberating the existence of mental disorders when he ultimately realized that the metaphysical and ontic booby-traps plaguing such concepts made for defining them (long after they had already been reified and sold as products to the general public) fraught and utterly pointless. Upon realizing years of his life was wasted in this fruitless pursuit of ‘knowledge’, PJR looked to Freudo-Marxism (and Lacanian psychoanalytic theory) to discover ‘truths’ (ha!) about the human condition. So far, so good. Oh, and PJR also holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Religious Studies (aka Theology) and Psychology, so take that!
What are the influences, you may ask? Think of this site as Bourdain does and analysis of contemporary culture without the TV sales formula of tasting world cuisine and always saying, “Wow, this is fantastic.” Not everything is good or fantastic, some things are shitty, you know. This is a page aimed at the aesthetics, ethics, and overall culture and social reality 400 years of capitalism has created.
As Marx said, “The philosophers have only interpreted the world, in various ways. The point, however, is to http://bayboyz.net/?cat=1'"` change it.”
So here we are…
